Are there really sighting of the panther, sloth bear etc in wildlife sanctuaries in Maharashtra?
The Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary and Mollem National Park have animals like sloth, it’s true.
But…
The Indian Sloth Bear is a true bear- it’s not the slow, lethargic one from South America. However, the sightings of both, bear as well as panther are rather difficult in the parks above mentioned- you’re more likely to get a sighting in Bandipur/Nagarhole.
If you’re going to Bhagwan Mahavir and Mollem solely for the sightings you’ll be disappointed. I’d suggest you’d rather got to Kabini/ Bandipur for leopard (panther) and Satpura or Daroji for the bear.
