My trips to the mountains for rock climbing and other adventures serve as a perfect setting to test the new SJCAM 5000x Elite. I also used it at a recent rock climbing trip to UK as well and will be uploading those photos and videos soon.

Carrying and managing the heavy SLR camera while doing any adventure activity is a risk and adds to discomfort, so I was indeed very happy to have the tiny action camera with me, anywhere I go. It is also not difficult to get used to this new cam as it has a screen where you see whatever you are clicking or shooting.

I have been using SJCAM 5000x Elite for over a month now for rock-climbing, trekking, biking, road-trips and I just love it. The video quality is awesome, photos turn out great. The wide-angle is just perfect for the kinds of settings required in the outdoors.

Once you have the SJCAM 5000x Elite, you can download the SJCAM Zone app which allows us to change functions and settings of cam through mobile phone, use it as remote to shoot and capture photos, videos and transfer files.

I haven’t had the opportunity to check it in rainfall or about the sound recording so can not say anything about it as of now. But you can find these photos and videos on the facebook page of #SJCAMIndia and instagram too. I will be doing it in a few days’ time during rafting trip.

The battery life is adequate for a one day event or trip. It seems to be low if we are to capture videos over a period of days. But it isn’t a problem if you are getting opportunities to charge  it on the go.  If you however, plan for Himalayan treks or expeditions then I suggest you carry 3 extra batteries for a week long adventure.
