I really miss the days of opening birthday gifts to find board games as presents. Growing up, we didn’t have OTT platforms or YouTube to entertain ourselves. My parents used to gift me a board game on each birthday to increase my focus, strategy, planning and decision-making; not sure if this was exactly what they thought but these games did keep me occupied during my growing years.
I met my grandmother after a couple of years last month, we chatted for a while and then I pulled out my laptop to start the snakes and ladder. She was so happy that I still remember her favorite game. We used to spend hours playing this when I was very young, before I even learnt how to read of write. so simply, we were again able to bond together just as the old times.
I remember we had Chess Sundays where everyone in my neighborhood used to compete together in chess throughout the day. I still miss playing carrom board with my mom in the mornings when she had her day off, she used to intentionally lose to make me happy.
I also discovered that this website has bunch of other board games as well like the classic Reversi which we used to play for hours during the school lunch break. In this you have to flip opponents pieces by trapping them between two of your own. We had so many fights during this game where we used to just mix up all pieces and go home crying. We were kids, pretty under stable to do this. I taught this game to my friend here today and she loved it. We played on my computer, just like the old times. I want to continue to keep making memories and have joyful moments together.
The new take on Minesweeper and Dominoes also excited me to set different difficulty levels and challenge myself. Now-a-days I am making it a norm to play at least one free online game when I meet my friend and then start with the conversation.
This site also has bunch of other educational games related to physics, music, logic and one can use the free time super productively playing these games. Not only did I refer this to kids of my friends but also to adult family members. Since these board games have played such a huge part of our growing days, just another games of it puts us in a good state of mind and refreshed for the day.
